Water – Learn it! Live it!
This comprehensive program for primary and secondary schools shows how schools can implement water conservation and water education across the curriculum.
This program enables schools to tailor and develop their own programs and initiatives to engage students and the school community in water conservation and education.
Education is essential to achieve the change in attitudes and behaviours needed to manage the community’s water needs in the future. We recognise that our schools play a vital role in encouraging life-long learning and behavioural change.
At the beginning of each section is a spreadsheet outlining which area of the VELS the activity meets, and which age group it is geared towards.
Activities range from internet research to construction to writing songs, to allow the theme of water to be applied in any subject.
All primary schools in our service area were sent a Water – Learn it! Live it! CD-ROM in 2010.
Please check with your library and fellow teachers. If you cannot find a copy, please contact us and we will arrange one for you.
