2008 National Water Week events
Gippsland Water along with a number of other local organisations held a community day at Traralgon Creek, Victory Park, Traralgon on Saturday 18 October 2008 to celebrate National Water Week.
Organised by the Traralgon Creek Neighbourhood Environment Improvement Plan (NEIP) Implementation Committee, the free fun day included a number of interactive displays showcasing Gippsland Water, Gippsland Water Factory, West Gippsland Catchment Management Authority, the Environment Protection Authority, and lots more.
More than 40 Gippsland Water customers also took advantage of Gippsland Water's showerhead exchange program, and exchanged their old showerhead for a new water efficient model for free. Old showerheads use 20 litres of water per minute whereas the new water saving ones use just nine litres per minute!
The Traralgon Lions Club provided a barbeque, and children were spoiled with showbag giveaways, face painting and a Shrek jumping castle.
