Best practice environment standard for Soil and Organic Recycling Facility

Gippsland Water has embraced sustainable waste management with an Environmental Management System (EMS) for its newly completed Soil and Organic Recycling Facility (SORF) recently accredited to international best practice standard. Water learning fun as Hazelwood North Primary School students tour Moondarra Reservoir

Exploring Gippsland Water's largest dam was all part of the fun for Grade 2, 3, and 4 students from Hazelwood North Primary School who recently took part in a tour to learn more about the Moondarra Reservoir. Gippsland Water Environmental and Water Quailty Governance Engineer Scott Fraser conducted the tour to 50 children and a handful of teachers and parent helpers on a one-hour excursion overlooking the Moondarra Reservoir, the principal water supply for the Latrobe Valley.  More information...

Blue green algae subsides in Tarago Reservoir

Gippsland Water is pleased to advise the blue green algae outbreak in the Tarago Reservoir is subsiding following cooler climate conditions. Melbourne Water manages the Tarago Reservoir and Gippsland Water takes raw water from it to treat and supply drinking water to customers in Neerim South, Neerim, Neerim Junction, and Noojee.  More information...

Traralgon residents to benefit from water main upgrade works

Traralgon residents will benefit from $150,000 in water main upgrade works as Gippsland Water replaces pipes at the corner of Hazelwood Road and Bank Street to improve system performance and water quality. Gippsland Water contractor, Trenack Excavations and Plant Hire, is currently carrying out the works as part of Gippsland Water's $1.5 million annual Water Main Upgrade Program to install a 30mm main at Bank Street.  More information...

Gippsland Water customers secure water conserving prizes

Ten Gippsland Water customers have won water conserving prizes in a state-wide competition conducted by savewater! The competition gave entrants the chance to win water-saving devices including rainwater tanks and washing machines with two of the prizes won locally worth $1,000 each.
