The Dutson Downs Resource Recovery Facility Environment Improvement Plan (EIP) has been developed in conjunction with the Dutson Downs Advisory Committee (DDAC) to address community concerns regarding prescribed waste management operations under EPA Licence ES344.
The members of the DDAC consist of representatives of regulatory agencies, industry and the community. It’s main objective is to address areas of concern regarding operations at the facility, and seeks sustainable solutions to prescribed waste management practices on site.
The EIP describes the processes and systems in place for managing prescribed industrial wastes and certain prescribed liquid wastes at the Dutson Downs Resource Recovery Facility (DDRRF) to ensure that under normal and emergency conditions, the potential for harm to the environment is minimised.
It is proposed that this EIP will be a ‘living document”, with processes, systems and action items outlined in the document evolving from the consultative processes undertaken by the DDAC.
We endorse the spirit and content of this EIP, and support its role as the key communication document of the DDAC. |
