Permanent Water Saving Rules were introduced by Gippsland Water as part of a strategy designed to help our customers save water.

Permanent Water Saving Rules currently apply to ALL Gippsland Water customers.

The rules are part of Gippsland Water's Permanent Water Saving Plan that encourages customers to adopt permanent water saving habits. It affects residential and commercial water users and was introduced across Gippsland Water's service area in 2005.

Customers should be aware that when water restrictions are in place, it replaces Permanent Water Saving Rules. When water restrictions are lifted Gippsland Water customers must return to using Permanent Water Saving Rules.

Permanent Water Saving Rules cover a number of areas including residential and commercial gardening, water fountains, vehicle cleaning, swimming pools and spas, cleaning of paved areas, water cartage and the construction industry.
