Stage 2 Water Restrictions in force in Seaspray

Stage 2 Water Restrictions came into force in Seaspray at 1am on Saturday 13Water Restrictions - reduce your use! February 2010 and will remain in place until further notice.

Key restrictions that apply under Stage Two Water Restrictions include:

• Lawns

No watering lawns.

• Gardens

Manual watering systems (i.e. that must b turned on or off by hand) can only be used between 6am to 8am and 8pm to 10pm on alternate days*.

Automatic watering systems (e.g. timer systemes) can only be used between midnight to 4am on alternate days*.

Hand-held hoses fitted with a trigger nozzle can be used to water gardens only (not lawn areas) at any time.

*Odd numbered houses can water on odd days of the month (1, 3, 5, etc.) and even numbered houses can water on even days of the month (2, 4, 6, etc.). Propertiers with no number are considered an even numbered house.

• Paved areas

The use of water to hose-down paved areas or hard surfaces such as courtyards, decks, footpaths or driveways is not permitted.

• Vehicle washing

Vehicles can only be cleaned with a bucket, high pressure cleaning unit or commercial car wash.

• Pools and spas

Pools or spas can only be filled or topped up by means of a hand-held hose fitted with a trigger nozzle.

New or existing pools or spas with a capacity of 2,000 litres or less may be filled or topped up with a watering can, hand-held hose with a trigger nozzle or bucket at any time.

To fill a new or existing pool or spa with a capacity of 2,000 litres or more needs approval from Gippsland Water. Owners must indicate how the volume of water required to fill the pool or spa will be, or has been, offset by water saved around the home.

Permanent Water Saving Rules are now in place for customers in all Gippsland Water towns except Seaspray, which is on Stage 2 Water Restrictions.

The key Permanent Water Saving Rules are:

  • Always use a trigger nozzle on hoses.
  • You can only use automatic or manual watering systems from 8pm to 10am daily.
  • You can wash your car or water your garden or lawn with a hose fitted with a trigger nozzle at any time.
  • You cannot hose paved areas.
  • You must apply to Gippsland Water to fill your pool or spa if Permanent Water Saving Rulesover 2,000 litres.

Boisdale, Boolarra, Briagolong, Buln Buln, Churchill, Coongulla, Cowwarr, Darnum, Drouin, Erica, Glengarry, Glenmaggie, Hazelwood North, Heyfield, Jumbuk, Maffra, Mirboo North, Moe, Morwell, Neerim South, Newborough, Nilma, Noojee, Rawson, Rokeby, Rosedale, Sale, Stratford, Thorpdale, Toongabbie, Trafalgar, Traralgon, Traralgon South, Tyers, Warragul, Wurruk, Willow Grove, Willung, Yallourn North, Yarragon and Yinnar.
