Gippsland Water at Farmers Market
Gippsland Water employees will be among the breads, spreads and potatoes at this weekend’s Traralgon Farmers Market.
The Water Corporation will be taking the opportunity to set up a stall and chat with customers at the monthly gathering in Kay Street from 8am on Saturday.
“Gippsland Water is part of the community and we are keen to hear what customers have to say, as well as highlighting some of our operations.” said Paul Clark, Gippsland Water’s General Manager Customer Service and Communication.
The Gippsland Water stand will feature information about the ‘Stop it, Don’t Block it’ campaign which aims to remind customers what should and should not go in a toilet or down a sink, as well as a number videos showcasing other areas of Gippsland Water’s history and operation.
“Blockages to our sewer pipes cost us many, many thousands of dollars each year so we hope this campaign can just give people a little reminder about what not to put down the loo or the drain” said Paul
While the Traralgon Farmer’s Market is the first such market Gippsland Water has attended, the plan is for such gatherings to become a feature of the Corporations calendar.
“We hope to attend similar community events across all of the area we cover as the year progresses. We’re keen to hear what the customers think and also see such events as good opportunities to explain some of the things we are doing ‘behind the scenes’ that customers may not always appreciate” concluded Paul
Gippsland Water employees will be at the Farmers Market from 8am till midday on Saturday June 28th.
