Maffra waste release

Recent transfers from Murray Goulburn’s manufacturing site in Maffra to Gippsland Water’s treatment lagoons are likely to increase odour within the Maffra township.

Paul Clark from Gippsland Water said the transfer of waste water from the site to Gippsland Water’s lagoons on Fulton Road coupled with wind conditions over the weekend may lead to odour issues within the town. Odour will reduce as the wastewater is further treated.

Both organisations thank nearby residents and businesses for their patience as they work to restore operations to normal.
