Water fountains for Mirboo North
Mirboo North’s Baromi Park is the latest public place to receive a new drinking fountain for walkers, groups using the nearby BBQ area and those exercising their dogs in the popular park.
Gippsland Water in partnership with the South Gippsland Shire Council has installed the fountain, one of several around the Gippsland Water area.
“We’re delighted to work with local government across Gippsland to install these units which offer passers by a refreshing drink on a hot day,” said Manager of Customer Service and Community relations at Gippsland Water, Paul Clark.
“This installation brings to eight the total number of units now in place in parks around Latrobe City, Baw Baw, Wellington and South Gippsland Shires. All of the units carry the ‘Choose Tap’ message encouraging the public to drink refreshing, clean, inexpensive tap water over soft drinks or bottled water,” concluded Mr Clark.
Council’s Parks and Gardens Coordinator Steve Missen welcomed the addition, “The new drinking fountain will provide individuals and families another feature to use in what is a very popular park for the community and visitors. Council was happy to support the installation and we thank Gippsland Water for their generous contribution as well.”
Gippsland Water offers portable water fountains for use at local community events free of charge.
