Update on Morwell water main restoration
Following on from a media release issued 20 April 2015 ‘Gippsland Water continues to restore normal service to Morwell area’, Gippsland Water has received test results confirming that water being supplied to customers in the Vincent Road area of Morwell are fully compliant with the Safe Drinking Water Regulations.
The testing of the water was completed as part of normal procedures following repairs to a mains break along Vincent Street.
While customers in the area will notice a significant improvement in the colour of the water, Gippsland Water is continuing to flush mains as systems are returned to normal.
“We have continued to see improvements in the colouration of water being supplied to customers throughout today”, said General Manager of Customer Services and Communications, Paul Clark.
“The test results, which were received earlier this morning, have confirmed the quality of water being supplied to customers meets the strict standards of the Safe Drinking Water Regulations”, added Mr Clark.
Gippsland Water will be undertaking additional tests over the next several days to ensure quality levels remain at high standards.
