Kicking goals and saving money

The Glengarry Football and Netball Club is kicking goals on the oval and saving money off it thanks to Gippsland Water.

The club recently requested some help to fit water saving showers to their change rooms.

“We were happy to help,” said General Manager of Customer Service and Communications Paul Clark.

“All Gippsland Water customers can request a water efficient shower head through our exchange program,” added Mr Clark.

“What a lot of people don’t realise is that while the shower heads certainly use a lot less water, they also have an impact on the customers fuel bill as using less water means that less gas or electricity is being used to heat the water. Using an efficient shower head can save customers up to 20 % on their gas bill,” concluded Mr Clark.

President of the Glengarry Football and Netball Club Steve Truin said the club was grateful to receive the showerheads.

“We’re all keen to save water and save some money too whether it be at a football club or at home. We may not be suffering a drought like we were a few years back, but I think we all realise that water is too precious to waste.”

Gippsland Water customers can receive a free showerhead by calling into the Hazelwood Road, Traralgon office personally, visiting Gippsland Water at one of the regions farmers markets or contacting the organisation via its call centre on 1800 050 500, where one will be mailed out to the customer’s home.
