Sale pipeline works nearing completion
Work on a new water supply main in Sale is nearing completion with approximately 80% of pipeline installed as part of another major investment for the town.
“Our contractors are currently working around the service station at Cunninghame Street, Reeve Street, and Railway Place, and work is also continuing along Thomson Street,” said General Manager of Customer Service and Communications, Mr Paul Clark.
“Work will also progress along Stawell Street in the next week or so,” Mr Clark continued.
Some minor traffic delays will be necessary as Gippsland Water carries out this work.
The work being carried out is part of the 1.9km pipeline that will run from the Sale Water Treatment Plant at Waterworks Road, to the town centre along Cunninghame and Reeve Street, Railway Place, Thomson Street, Stawell Street and Desailly Street, ending at Macarthur Street.
The project will ensure continuity of supply for Gippsland Water customers, and is one part of a suite of investments in the Sale area amounting to more than $11 million between 2013 and 2018.
Construction of the pipeline is expected to be completed by the end of June.
“Gippsland Water would like to thank the residents of Sale for their patience during this period and over the next couple of months as we aim to complete the project as quickly as possible to minimise disruption,” Mr Clark concluded.
