While extra expenses over the festive season and summer holidays may cause some strain on the family budget, Gippsland Water is reminding customers of the many easy ways to pay their water and sewerage bills as they come in.
Gippsland Water has reported a sewer spill to the Environment Protection Authority. The spill of domestic waste water took place within Energy Australia’s mining boundary adjacent to Sand Wash Road approximately three kilometres east of Yallourn North. The spill has been contained and the sewer line repaired and reinstated. The spill poses no threat to the community or the surrounding environment.
With hot temperatures expected over the coming days, Gippsland Water is reminding customers who may face bush or grass fires this summer that household water supply systems should not be relied upon in times of emergency.
