Maffra water storage tank repaired and back online
Specialist divers have completed an inspection and undertaken a patch repair on the liner of the water storage tank at Maffra.
The large water storage tank will be brought back online with reduced capacity and monitoring at the site will continue until the liner has been replaced.
Gippsland Water is planning to replace the liner this winter when demand on water supply is lower.
Water supply remains steady for customers in Maffra, Stratford and Boisdale. Gippsland Water thanks customers for their patience and conservative approach to water usage while the large tank was offline.
“We continue to ask customers to be mindful of their water use particularly if we were to experience another hot period during autumn,” said Gippsland Water General Manager of Customer Service and Communications Paul Clark.
“Our customers can be assured that water quality was not compromised in any way as a result of increased activity at the storage tank and comprehensive testing remains in place,” Mr Clark said.
Permanent Water Saving Rules are in place throughout Victoria and apply to watering gardens and lawns and washing vehicles and paved areas. For more information visit www.gippswater.com.au/saving-water.
