Notice to customers

Residents of the Wellington Shire living near the Regional Outfall System (ROS) may notice some odour over the coming months as a result of trials being undertaken at the Gippsland Water Factory.

Rather than being treated at the Gippsland Water Factory, some industrial wastewater will be sent down the ROS to Dutson Downs and treated in the lagoon system before being returned to the environment.
Residents in the area may notice odour on occasion, however it is not expected to return to levels experienced prior to the Gippsland Water Factory.
The trials are only temporary and operations are expected to return to normal by late November.
Gippsland Water apologises for any inconvenience.
