Financial assistance available
Gippsland Water and the Morwell Good Money store are working together to support locals experiencing financial hardship.
The customer service teams from both organisations recently met to discuss the range of financial assistance options that are available.
Gippsland Water customers may notice a Good Money flier included with their next bill.
General Manager Customer and Community Paul Clark said that the mail-out would coincide with the Christmas period.
"We know that this time of year can be difficult. Our message to customers is: if you’re having trouble paying your water bill, get in touch. We can help, and we can refer you to support services as well," he said.
Good Money is a partnership between Good Shepherd Microfinance, the Victorian Government and NAB. They offer safe and affordable financial services for people on low incomes.
While Good Money does not offer loans to pay for utility bills, their loans can be used to pay for education, medical or car related expenses, or to purchase household items such as whitegoods and furniture.
