Maffra Men's Shed is home and hosed

The local blokes running the Maffra Men’s Shed have found a place to hang their hammers, thanks to Gippsland Water.

After six months of searching, the group recently leased a vacant Gippsland Water building adjacent to the Maffra Water Treatment Plant on Gibney Street. They opened the shed for the first time early in January.

General Manager Customer and Community Paul Clark said that Gippsland Water was pleased to support the Maffra community.

“This building has been sitting empty for some time, so it’s terrific to see a local group making such good use of it,” he said.

Maffra Men’s Shed President Rex Murray was enthusiastic about the potential of the new space.

“We’re really excited about the future and welcoming new members to come and join us here. Being part of a Men’s Shed is a fantastic way for men to support each other, and learn some new skills too,” he said.

The Maffra Men’s Shed is open every Tuesday and Thursday from 9am to 2pm.
