National Water Week poster competition opens

The National Water Week poster competition is on again with individual and school prizes up for grabs.

The search is on for a budding van Gogh as Gippsland Water celebrates the annual program with a poster competition for primary school students.

Managing director Sarah Cumming said students are invited to create an A3-sized poster capturing the theme ‘it’s time to change the world’.

“The theme is centred on one of the United Nations’ sustainability goals, challenging us all to work towards a world where everyone has access to safe and clean water.

“We encourage local kids to get creative and show us why water is special in their posters,” Ms Cumming said.

Ms Cumming explained the poster competition was an important part of Gippsland Water’s education program.

“Our education program focusses on the importance of water for human health and using water wisely.

“The poster competition adds a fun angle to the program, encouraging the youngest members of our community to take action now to help protect precious resources,” Ms Cumming concluded.

Entries must be submitted to Gippsland Water by Friday 6 September 2019 and prizes include Coles Myer vouchers and Gippsland Water prize packs. The entry form and further details are available at www.gippswater.com.au/education.
