The conserve water alert in Maffra, Stratford and Boisdale is now closed.
Our Maffra water treatment plant has now returned to normal operation following the recent storms and prolonged wet weather.
We appreciate the patience and assistance provided by all affected residents over the last few days.
Our Maffra water treatment plant is working harder than usual this week. To help us meet water supply demand, we’re asking customers in Maffra, Stratford and Boisdale to put off any non-essential water use.
The issue has been caused by recent prolonged wet weather events, which have impacted raw water supplies in the Macalister River and the water being supplied to the Maffra water treatment plant. While the water coming to your taps is still safe to drink, we’re asking for Maffra, Stratford and Boisdale residents to help reduce load on the plant, if you can.
What can I do?
If you can, please avoid any non-essential water use. For instance, please avoid using your washing machine or dishwasher, watering your garden and lawn or filling a pool or spa. If you could, please also take a shorter shower (aim for 4 minutes) and refrain from taking a bath.
We’d also appreciate you keeping your eyes open for any water leaks or bursts around your towns and if you see any, please give us a buzz on 1800 057 057 so we can fix it right away.
Thank you for your help!
