Moving home or buying a property?
When you move home, you may wonder how your water bill switches to your new address. This depends on whether you’re buying or renting.
Renting?
Please contact us 48 hours before moving into and out of a rental property to ensure that your account has been arranged and your previous account finalised.
If you don’t notify us, you may be charged for water usage after you have left the property.
Purchasing?
You don’t need to let us know if you are a purchasing a property provided you use a solicitor or conveyancer.
When a property is sold, your solicitor or conveyancer will provide us with the information needed to update our property ownership records and establish your new water and wastewater account.
If you are in doubt, please check with your solicitor or conveyancer for a purchase.
