Permanent water saving rules

Home / Residential / Help & Advice / Saving water / Permanent water saving rules /

We run two programs to make sure water is used sensibly: Permanent Water Saving Rules and Water Restrictions.

Permanent water saving rules are currently in place within Gippsland Water's service area. They are simple things everyone can do to make sure they are not wasting water. There are four main rules that apply to your home:

  • Always use a trigger nozzle on hoses.
  • You can wash your car or water your garden or lawn with a hose fitted with a trigger nozzle at any time.
  • You can only use automatic or manual watering systems from 6pm to 10am daily.
  • You can’t hose paved areas.

Aside from the permanent water saving rules, there are no further water restrictions for Gippsland Water customers at the moment.
