We replaced an old section of water main that is attached to the bridge between Anzac Street and Lloyd Streets in Moe, at the major roundabout.
The Anzac Street water main was installed in the early 1940s, with an exposed section attached to the bridge crossing over the Moe railway line.
The works involved replacing a section of the existing water main with a new pipe.
Map of the planned works area and detours.
The works commenced in May 2021 and was completed by early June 2021.
The left turning lane from Lloyd Street entering the roundabout was partially closed to road users and pedestrians for the duration of the works.
Road users could still access all entrances and exits around the bridge and detours will be available for pedestrians.
Most of the works were conducted around the same time as V/Line’s scheduled maintenance and infrastructure works, to reduce the impact on nearby homes and businesses.
Speed restrictions and pedestrian detours were in place and clearly signposted.
Water supply was not interrupted.
The works occurred during the day.
The bridge remained open. The Lloyd Street lane entering the roundabout was partially closed, however road users could still access all entrances and exits during the works.
No. Although the Lloyd Street lane entering the major roundabout was partially closed, buses were still able to access all entrances and exits to and from the roundabout.
