The Coongulla Glenmaggie Sewerage Scheme is a $22.45 million Gippsland Water project that has delivered reticulated sewerage services to more than 400 properties in Coongulla, Glenmaggie Point and Glenmaggie.
Complete and operational in mid 2013, over 80% of customers are expected to be connected by early 2014.
The scheme was delivered during the period 2006 to 2013 by Gippsland Water as part of the Victorian Government’s Country Towns Water Supply and Sewerage Scheme Program, which listed Coongulla and Glenmaggie amongst 35 priority towns to be provided with water or wastewater services.
This was announced by the then Minister for Water in January 2006. A total of $785,000 was received from the Victorian Government towards the planning and development phases of the Coongulla Glenmaggie project.
Construction began on the sewerage scheme in early 2012, and following the official first connection on 22 June 2013, it is now operational and available for customer connection. Gippsland Water has been in contact with residential property owners to provide details regarding the process and steps to connect the scheme.
