Watering your garden can be an important part of keep your plants thriving during the warmer months, but how often is too often? Here, gardening expert Nancy Morgan shares her advice on how to keep your garden happy while saving water.
The Plant Finder on the Smart Approved Watermark website gives you a list of water efficient plants to assist your approach to sustainable gardening.
You can search by the name of the plants or alternatively you can select the part of Australia you live in and the type of plant you’re looking for (eg. grasses, large trees, climbers), and the program finds plants for you.
You can also add extra search criteria such as foliage type, growing environment, maintenance level, water needs and flowering season.

Saving water around the pool and spa

Permanent Water Saving Rules. Having a trigger nozzle on your hose helps save
water because you can turn off the water instantly as you work your way around
the garden. We offer the Trigger Nozzle Exchange Program for our customers
which allows customers to receive two trigger nozzles.
Under Permanent Water Saving Rules, you can wash your car or water your garden on any day at any time using a hose with a trigger nozzle. There are time limits on when you can use watering systems though, see the Water Restrictions page for details.
