The Soil and Organic Recycling Facility (SORF) opened in 2008.
It is an EPA-licensed waste treatment and composting facility located at
our 8500+ hectare Dutson Downs property, not far from Sale.
The SORF accepts and treats EPA prescribed and non-prescribed wastes,
most of which are used as part of our composting process.
Some of the wastes we accept at the SORF include tannery wastes,
industrial, car, truck and machinery wash waters, content from grease traps in
commercial kitchens, milk and food wastes, poultry manure and green waste and
other organics. For a more detailed listing of all wastes we accept visit our 'details for
commercial customers' page.
We also accept other wastes at the SORF but they are not used in the
composting process. These include synthetic mineral fibres such as household
insulation materials and content from septic tanks.
Our compost is the major component of the REVIVE Recycled Compost
product, owned by Rosedale-based agricultural services company Gibsons
Groundspread.
Our composting products meet the strict requirements set by AS4454 - the
Australian Standard for Composts, Mulches and Soil Conditioners, with the
following data captured to demonstrate compliance:
Every batch we produce is also independently tested by National
Association of Testing Authorities (NATA) accredited laboratories.
The SORF has a team of approximately 23 staff which is made up of Management, Technical, Administrative and Operational personnel.
We
manufacture multiple products of varying quality which may be available for
sale in bulk quantities. For enquiries contact 1800 050 500.
