Tours are available for schools, universities and community groups to a number of our facilities. Our tours will allow you to learn more about Gippsland’s water supply and sewerage treatment processes.
The Vortex Centre is a great resource for primary and secondary school students. Admission is free for schools within Gippsland Water's service area.
The state-of-the-art facility features interactive displays, touch screens and videos, with a focus on water conservation.
You will learn about the water cycle, Gippsland's water catchment and how it is managed, the Gippsland Water Factory treatment process, and how we can all play a part in conserving water and using it more wisely.

Treatment plant tours are best suited to senior high-school, university and community groups. Our treatment plants are not designed for large groups, which means there are restrictions on the number of people who can attend a tour.
As a guide, the following limits apply:
Due to health and safety concerns, children under 15 years of age are unable to visit wastewater treatment plants.
Tours are free, but must be booked in advance. Please allow a minimum of three weeks' notice. We do not supply transport to our sites. Tours take up to 60 minutes. Multiple tour groups require a 30 minute gap between completion of first tour and start of second tour.
