Customers invited to help shape Gippsland Water's future plans
Gippsland Water is seeking expressions of interest from customers interested in taking part in its People’s Panel.
The People’s Panel is a representative group of customers that will deliberate key issues and provide recommendations to the organisation.
Randomly selected customers will begin receiving invitations via postal mail this week.
Managing director Sarah Cumming said the panel puts customers at the centre of decision-making.
“This group will play a meaningful role in helping us ensure we get the right balance between services and community needs, while keeping bills fair,” Ms Cumming said.
“Panel members will learn about the opportunities and challenges we’re facing, explore what affects pricing and services and develop recommendations to help inform our 2028 Price Submission.”
Ms Cumming said having a diverse representation on the panel would ensure all views were represented.
“We want to give customers from all walks of life the opportunity to take part,” Ms Cumming said.
The People’s Panel will bring together up to 50 randomly selected customers and run across five Saturdays from August to November in Traralgon. Participants who complete all five sessions will be paid $1,000 for their time.
The process will be run independently to ensure it is fair and transparent.
Customers who don’t receive an invitation can still register their interest at www.gippswater.com.au/planningforthefuture.
