Gippsland Water lends a hand to those in need
Gippsland Water is supporting those doing it tough through monthly donations to the Morwell Neighbourhood House foodbank for the next year.
The sponsorship, which began in late November, will provide essential items, ease the workload of the foodbank and offer friendly faces for community members to connect with.
Managing director Sarah Cumming said it was a great opportunity to continue the long-lasting sponsorship.
“Each month, we’ll donate 192 rolls of toilet paper to the foodbank, which equates to more than 2,300 rolls over 12 months.
“We’re also contributing a $500 donation toward personal care items and sending staff members to volunteer at the foodbank each month.”
The organisation’s social club recently ran a Christmas food drive, donating around $1,000 worth of food.
Morwell Neighbourhood House manager Rebecca Arnason expressed appreciation for Gippsland Water’s contribution.
“Gippsland Water’s support helps ensure our community has access to life’s basic essentials,” Ms Arnason said.
“Its contribution helps us to uphold dignity, ease financial pressure and support those who need it most.”
Gippsland Water has previously supported Morwell Neighbourhood House, donating a lawn mower and volunteering at the People’s Kitchen.
