Returning our water to the environment

We treat nearly 8,000 megalitres of wastewater annually.

Our objective is to treat wastewater to a level that poses no harm to the environment or community and meets all discharge quality guidelines.

Our treatment processes vary and are a combination of mechanical, chemical, biological and membrane filtration systems.

Our treated effluent must meet EPA license discharge limits before being discharged. The treated effluent is discharged in a number of locations, and into different environments such as local waterways and wetlands. Some is also used for irrigation on our farmland and local sporting facilities.
